Waiting To Hear What They May Never Say

…“Am I doing this to prove someone wrong?” If the answer is yes, we are secretly waiting for the moment when that person finally acknowledges our greatness. But what if we never get that? What if what we long to hear is never said? There are several two phrased words some us desire to hear from the ones we love:

I’m sorry. You’re right. I’m wrong. Forgive me. Love you. Come back. Don’t go. Good job. Never again. You’re beautiful. My fault. Blame me. Be mine. You’re forgiven.

We say, “Gosh if I could just try harder, they’ll understand they were wrong. If I change this much, surely they will notice. If I achieve this, they will finally express their love for me. Maybe if I accomplish what they said I couldn’t, they’ll apologize.” But what if that never happens? What if those two words are never said? For more, click here for blog.

Challenge

I want you to take a moment to pray for the person you long to hear those “two words” from. You are probably thinking, “What?! Why?! They owe me!” Listen, I get it and you may be right, but we must realize that they are trying to navigate through life dealing with pain themselves. If they are not actively seeking help or healing (which many do not), they will always live a life filtering their responses (or lack of responses) through that hurt. Ultimately, even taking ourselves out the equation, we should want the best for their lives because we know the freedom that comes with healing. May their eyes be opened, may their hearts be receptive, and may their walls of pride come down. Let’s pray they heal so that moving forward, they are able to enrich their lives and the lives of others. Praying goodwill over them will also heal your heart as well.

DAILY DEVOTIONALS

This week, I simply want you to pray for your heart and for the heart of the one you long to hear those “two words” from:

DAY ONE

For you:“For you [who are born-again have been reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified and] are all children of God [set apart for His purpose with full rights and privileges] through faith in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:26 (AMP) – YOU’RE HIS.

For them: [But I say to you, love[that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for] your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” Matthew 5:44 (AMP)

DAY TWO

For you: “If we [freely] admit that we have sinned andconfess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises], and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continuallyfrom all unrighteousness [our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose].” 1stJohn 1:9 (AMP) –YOU’RE FORGIVEN.

For them:“And Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.”And they cast lots, dividing His clothes among themselves.” Luke 23:34 (AMP)

DAY THREE

For you:“But God clearly shows andproves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (AMP)- YOU’RE LOVED.

For them:“But God, being [so very] rich in mercy, because of His great andwonderful love with which He loved us, even when we were [spiritually] dead andseparated from Him because of our sins, He made us [spiritually] alive together with Christ (for by His grace—His undeserved favor and mercy—you have been saved from God’s judgment).” Ephesians 2:4-5 (AMP)

DAY FOUR

For you: “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has [b]lost its taste (purpose), how can it be made salty? It is no longer good for anything, but to be thrown out and walked on by people [when the walkways are wet and slippery]. You are the light of [Christ to] the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:13-14 (AMP)- YOU’RE PURPOSED.

For them:“Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for Israel is for their salvation.” Romans 10:1 (AMP)

DAY FIVE

For you:“For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].” Ephesians 2:10 (AMP)- YOU’RE SPECIAL.

For them: “They continued stoning Stephen as he called on the Lordand said, “Lord Jesus, receive andaccept andwelcome my spirit!” Then falling on his knees [in worship], he cried out loudly, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them [do not charge them]!” When he had said this, he fell asleep [in death].” Acts 7:59-60 (AMP)
